- Each film will be followed by a Q&A session with the filmmakers and a time for discussion.

This is the 5th annual Windrider Film Forum at Colorado Springs: Cinema in Conversation. The Windrider Film Forum debuted in January 2005 in Park City, Utah, at the Sundance Film Festival as an immersive educational experience to inspire conversation between filmmakers and film lovers. We structured the experience to participate in Sundance on Sundance's terms. Our "classroom" became the film festival itself; the content of our "course" were the films we saw; and our "professors" were the filmmakers who participated in conversations with us. This experience stretched our minds, on occasion offended our sensibilities or broke our hearts, but often left us inspired. We have brought students to Sundance for five years now, and leave each year wanting to replicate the experience in other settings. Windrider Colorado is one of those parallel experiences. Each year we endeavor to bring together local community partners who serve as hosts and event organizers with films, filmmakers and their audience. From there, we create space for the conversations to begin and then continue long after the forum is over.
Many filmmakers have become the prophetic voices in our culture, creating films that do more than simply entertain us. They help us to see our world with a different set of eyes, they explore the human condition with creativity, compassion and respect, and they inspire us to find ways to make a difference in the world and in our own local community. Windrider forums are all about community, connecting and creating space for conversation. We gather at the intersection of faith, art and culture diving into all three with a sense of expectation and wonder. We hope you will join the conversation this year at one or more of these events.
